Seven ways to actually get parents to RSVP

Nothing derails a practice plan like not knowing who's coming. After working with hundreds of clubs, here's what reliably moves RSVP rates.
1. Make it one tap
If responding takes more than a tap, parents won't. Squadz invites link straight to a yes/no — no login wall.
2. Publish early
Parents respond when an event lands a week out, not the night before.
3. Let parents RSVP for each kid
Households with multiple athletes need to respond per child. Make it easy.
4. Use email fallback
Not everyone checks the app daily. An email nudge catches the stragglers.
5. Show the headcount
When parents see "8 attending," they're more likely to add themselves.
6. Set a gentle reminder cadence
A single reminder 48 hours out beats five pings the day of.
7. Thank the responders
A quick "thanks for RSVPing, see you Saturday" builds the habit for next time.
